June Is a Great Time For a Chemical Peel

chemical peelsReviving your skin and giving your self-esteem a boost are two great reasons to schedule a chemical peel, one of the most popular aesthetic treatments we offer. They are fast and easy and give your skin a youthful glow. If you’ve considered a chemical peel and would like to know more, read on. We specialize in making your skin look gorgeous – a chemical peel is just one way we do that.

A chemical peel involves a combination of alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) or beta hydroxy acid (BHA) which is applied to your skin, in layers, similar to a treatment mask. The acids dissolve the top layers of your skin creating a controlled wound which allows your skin to regenerate itself.

Here is the short list of what a chemical peel can do:

  • create softer, smoother skin
  • treat acne
  • increase collagen production
  • reduce fine lines
  • remove sun spots, freckles and blotches
  • un-clog pores
  • improve minor scarring

To prepare your skin before your peel it is a good idea to exfoliate your skin at home or have a professional dermabrasion treatment. During your peel, your skin will feel warm. You may also feel slight stinging, or burning. After your peel, your skin will feel a bit dry and tight, and may be red for an hour or so. Your skin will also be sensitive, so you must wear sunscreen, avoid excessive exercise, saunas or hot tubs for a few days, and avoid scrubbing or picking at your face.

We can enhance your peel with a FotoFacial, CO2 laser resurfacing, or other aesthetic procedure, such as a Botox treatment or a dermal filler. At your consultation appointment we will help you determine what treatment combination best meets your needs. Call us, today: (314) 878-3839.
