If you suffer from redness of the face and neck, scars or stretchmarks, rosacea, red birthmarks, or broken blood vessels, V-Beam Pulsed-Dye Laser® treatment could be an excellent option for you. Since it is a non-invasive treatment, patients experience minimal pain during the procedure.

How it works:

The V-Beam Laser® treatment delivers an intense but gentle burst of light to the skin. The laser has a unique ability to target the blood vessels without adversely affecting the surrounding skin. The body absorbs the treated blood vessels during the natural healing process

Side Effects:

Pulsed Dye Lasers have a well-documented history of safety and effectively treating vascular lesions for decades. In fact, it has been used successfully for the treatment of infants as young as a few weeks old. Minor side effects include:

  • Bruising
  • Temporary discoloration or reddening of the skin around the treatment site.
  • Changes in skin color. The skin will typically return to normal color over time.

Downtime:

You may experience some redness or minor swelling in the treated area directly after undergoing treatment, but it normally goes away after just a few hours. A red or purple bruise may develop, but will usually be gone within three to five days after the procedure. To maximize your results, it’s best to avoid exposing the affected skin area to the sun both before and throughout your ongoing treatments, and you should consistently wear sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 during that time.

When will I see results:

Whereas a course of treatments is recommended for many other cosmetic treatment techniques, fantastic results can be achieved with only just one CO2 fractional laser treatment. Most patients start to notice improvements in their skin as early as 1 week after the treatment. Continued improvements occur for the next 6 months and peak at around month 6. At that time, the need for an additional treatment will be determined.
