E-Matrix Sublative Rejuvenation

The E-Matrix™ skin resurfacing system uses sublative technology to treat wrinkles, skin textural irregularities, sun spots and acne scars. Sublative Rejuvenation uses radiofrequency to treat deeper layers of skin without disrupting the outer layers of skin. Since the top layer of your skin is intact, downtime is minimal. In addition, since sublative technology is not laser-based or light-based, it can work on any color or type of skin.

How it works:

With E-Matrix™, each pulse delivers radio frequency energy via a grid of treatment spots. Collagen production is stimulated within the “zones” of treatment. The surrounding “untreated” tissue helps to support and accelerate the healing process in the skin, yielding improved skin tone and texture overall.

Side Effects:

Because the tool does not directly affect the outer skin layer, downtime and side effects are minimal. Some of the side effects and complications that may occur after aggressive or high level treatments include:

  • Scaling, peeling, and crusting
  • Swelling for up to one week after treatment – this can be helped by applying an ice pack at 10-minute intervals for the first 24 hours.
  • Post procedure color changes (more common in patients of darker skin types)

Downtime:

The recovery is quick because most of the injury occurs beneath the skin surface. Typical treatment consists of 3 treatment sessions at 3 to 4 week intervals. The microscopic injury produced in the skin creates a sunburn-like redness for 2 to 3 days without visible wounds, and most patients are back at work the next day.

When Will I See Results?

You will begin to see results after the first treatment, but the skin will continue to improve up to one year post treatment.  Because this treatment works to rebuild collagen, there are no limitations on how long the results last. Maintenance treatments are recommended post one year to maintain and further enhance results.
